NEW PRODUCTS Group Presents the Second Part of MARA Project. Once More You can Enjoy Sculptures by Kateryna Buchatskaya and Vitaliy Kokhan

The second part of the art Project MARA by Kateryna Buchatskaya and Vitaliy Kokhan is about to open on February, 14 at Kyiv Port creative hub. This exhibition is kind of a summary of artists’ work during their residence at PortArtStudio.

Both parts of the project are meant to answer what is the essence of sculpture and where are the images – just in our imagination, within the physical object or within its visual display?  The first part of the project which took place in December 2016 presented photography that illustrated the art space and sculptures exhibited there. The second part represents real objects.

«The second MARA is not in fact the second, but a previous one. Just with sculptures. The same sculptures. But still the other ones » – says Kateryna Buchatskaya, co-creator of the project.

Valeriya Karpan, coordinator of the art studio adds: «Authors elaborate the topic of correlation between the images and their perception using the traditional media which is sculpture. However, audience usually meets the project in the media space first. Thus exhibition may not correspond to the expectations. One may get a faint impression that he or she can’t distinguish between the artistic research and final result, which is the end of every process».

The showroom is open every day from February 14 until February 28, 12:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. and can be found at the creative space Port creative hub, Kyiv, Naberezhno-Khreschatytska str, 10-а.
